Da Lat is known as the City of Love and Le Petit Paris. Climatologists call Da Lat "The City of eternal spring" thanks to its average temperature that never falls under 10oC in winter and never exceeds 20oC in summer.

Many reminders of Dalat’s colonial past can be seen in the hundreds of European style villas, chalets and other buildings still standing around town.

Apart from its colonial heritage Dalat is known in Vietnam for its market gardens growing everything from carrots and cauliflowers to avocados and bananas as well as many varieties of flowers. For Vietnamese, Dalat means romance, and with attractions like the Valley of Love. It is the destination of choice for local honeymooners.

  Da Lat Cathedral

   It was built between 1931 and 1942 for use by French residents and holidaymakers. The cross on the spire is 47m above the ground. Inside, the stained-glass windows bring a hint medieval Europe to Da Lat. see full details

  Cat Tien National Park

   240km from Saigon, it is a primitive forest with an area 36,000 ha. The forest has a diverse and rich ecosystem, it is home to valuable giant trees such as red wood tree and bang lang. It is also the habitat of some quiet large specimens of local fauna, including elephants, bisons, the Java rhinoceros, the gaur - recently discovered species of wild ox - bears and leopards. see full details

Besides flowers, jam and fruit is sold on the ground floor, woolen clothes are tranditional in Dalat.  

Knitting attracts a lot of female workers and there are various types of models with various price suitable for all people.

Dalat market is also specialized in selling vegetables ( inluding fruit and potatoes). Evey midnight, there is a big market of vegetable on the way to Dalat market. In the early morning , when visitors go out for breakfast, the street are already clean up thanks to the workers.

Dalat does not offer lot of high-end handicrafts of the sort favored by overseas tourists. Dalat is famous, however, for its beautifully crafted silk embroidered pictures, which can be purchased at a massive mark up from the many galleries around Dalat or at a fraction of the price from the central Dalat market.
