Warmly welcome on arrival in Phnom Penh. The capital city of Phnom Penh was once considered the loveliest city of Indochina. Despite its recent turbulent history, it still maintains considerable charm. A city tour acquaints us with some major sights of Phnom Penh. The private quarters of the Royal Palace are now home to the royal family and are therefore very close to the public. At the northern area of the palace grounds is Silver Pagoda, the most sacred shrine in the country.

For today you visit both structures as well as the legendary temple of Wat Phnom, which provides an interesting view over the environs. The next stop is the National Museum , exclusively dedicated to Khmer art and sculpture. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, you will visit the antique capital of Angkor Thom( 12th century), the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. In the afternoon you visit to the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor: Angkor Wat. The temple complex covers 81 hectares, which is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Enjoy a wonderful sunset from Phnom Bakheng Hills. Bantea SreiDay 5: Siem Reap (B/L)

Today you visit to Banteay Srei temple (10th century), regarded as the jewel in the crown of classical Khmer Art. Then contnue your visit to Banteay Samre, build in the third quarter of the 12th century. It consists of a central temple with four wings. Lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon visit the unique interior brick sculptures of Prasat Kravan, Srah Srang (“The Royal Baths” was once used for ritual bathing), Banteay Kdei (surrounded by 4 concentric walls), Ta Keo, constructed in late 10th early 11th century C.E and Ta Prohm, one of the area’s most beautiful temple Overnight in Seam Reap.

 

 

Preah Khan cambodiaDay 6: Siem Reap (B/L)

Today you visit Roluos Group include with Lolei, Preah Kô, Bakong – Located in the center of the first large scale Baray constructed by a Khmer King, that is an island temple consisting of four brick towers on a double late rite platform. Lunch will be served at local restaurant.
